Readiness To Learn’s Family Resource Center (FRC), located in the main hallway of the South Whidbey Community Center, is a cornerstone project offering strength-based, welcoming support to local families. We serve as a reliable bridge, connecting families to essential community services, resources, and educational opportunities. Staffed by dedicated local professionals, the FRC is open Monday through Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (flexible appointment times available). The FRC hosts several key services: South Whidbey School District’s McKinney-Vento Liaison for immediate support (transportation, enrollment, emergency shelter) for families experiencing housing instability. RTL’s FRC Coordinator and Families In Transition Specialist provide personalized resource plans and links families to key RTL programs (Back To School Supplies, Holiday House, Coats for Kids, etc.). A CADA advocate regularly is in the FRC, offering confidential crisis intervention, safety planning, and emotional support.
By bringing these services together, the FRC is a holistic, compassionate, and effective place for all South Whidbey families to find the help they need.
