Transformative Support in Action: A Story of Hope and Success
At Readiness To Learn, we are committed to making a significant difference in the lives of South Whidbey families, many of whom face rising living costs and the lingering impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our Academic Coaches play a crucial role in this effort, providing essential support directly within school settings to students experiencing challenges such as unstable housing.
One middle school student's story highlights the profound impact of our work. This student struggled with grades and attendance, feeling overwhelmed and on the verge of giving up. Our dedicated RTL Academic Coach stepped in, working closely with the student’s family and school to develop a personalized support plan. Through this collaboration, the student regained their interest in learning, began completing schoolwork, and joined our after-school TutorTime program for additional support. This success story is just one among many, showing how our programs—supported by your generosity—provide essential resources and create safe, nurturing environments for our youth.

As we celebrate the resilience and achievements of our the 2024 graduates, we prepare to shift our focus to helping parents and guardians prepare their children for kindergarten this fall, laying the groundwork for a lifetime of learning.
SummerFUN! A Call to Action
Our SummerFUN! programs, starting July 9th, offer enriching experiences that foster both academic skills and social development. With the average camp costing $350 per student per week, these programs are crucial, especially for families facing financial barriers.
