Help with Birthdays and Holidays
The extra costs of birthday and holiday gifts can be tough on budgets. Our programs, like Holiday House, ease that strain and still provide parents and caregivers the joy of selecting new gifts for their children.
How We Help
At Readiness To Learn, we cherish the joy of birthdays and holidays. But we understand these special times can be challenging for families facing financial hardships. To help, we offer the Better Birthday Club and Holiday House. These programs ensure every child can experience the delight of their special day and the festive holiday season, no matter their circumstances.
Birthday and Holiday Programs
Better Birthday Club
Recognizing the joy that a child's birthday can bring, we present the Better Birthday Club - a thoughtful initiative for parents and caregivers struggling with financial constraints. If your child is aged 0-18 and celebrating a birthday, we extend a helping hand by providing access to an array of delightful, age-appropriate items, free of charge. These can be picked from our specially curated, on-site 'store'. We're here to ensure that no child misses out on the joy of their special day. Simply send an email to rtlfprograms@readinesstolearn.org, and we'll schedule a time for you to 'shop' for your child's birthday
Holiday House
Christmas can be a challenging time when finances are tight. That's why every December, Readiness to Learn opens the doors to Holiday House - a warm, welcoming ‘store’ where income-eligible families can choose gifts for their children without the pressure of cost. Here, you'll find a range of toys and presents, lovingly donated and ready to be wrapped. In addition, we provide holiday treats like cookies and soup and a festive atmosphere where you can feel respected, safe, and immersed in the season's joy.
Holiday House is a heartfelt collaboration between Readiness to Learn staff and our invaluable volunteers of all ages, all with a common goal - to make Christmas a time of joy, choice, and dignity for everyone in our community.
