South Whidbey Elementary School Kindergarten Program
South Whidbey Elementary School's Kindergarten Program is designed to give our youngest learners a strong foundation for lifelong learning. The program focuses on nurturing children's natural curiosity through a blend of structured and unstructured activities. With an emphasis on literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional development, our kindergarten experience ensures that children are well-prepared for future academic success. Founded in 2019 by a group of parents and students at Whidbey Island Waldorf School, the initiative aspires to provide a hands-on, personalized education that not only enhances academic learning but also strengthens students' connection to their community.
Salish Sea Academy
Salish Sea Academy offers a transformative, nature-based learning experience on South Whidbey Island where classic Montessori philosophy meets the natural wonder of the Pacific Northwest. Operating under the guiding principle of "Small School, Big Education," the Academy strives to provide one of the premier Montessori and elementary-age programs in the country, serving children from Pre-K through 6th grade.
The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to cultivate each child's natural curiosity and independence, blending indoor Montessori classrooms with enriching outdoor exploration. Market Square Education
Established in 2008, Market Square Education (MSE) is a nationally accredited, OSPI-approved online provider offering student-centered educational programs for grades 6–12. Operating on the belief that all students want to be successful, MSE provides a highly flexible, asynchronous learning environment with daily open enrollment and 24/7 course access, allowing students to work at their own pace. Washington State certificated teachers grade assignments and provide personalized instructional support.
MSE accommodates a wide range of scheduling and learning needs through diverse enrollment options.
